Mr. Gregg Thompson was selected to the Senior Executive Service and appointed as Deputy to the Commanding General for the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, effective 19 February 2019. In this capacity, he works in collaboration with the Commander to develop and execute organizational strategic goals, objectives, and policies. Additionally, Mr. Thompson serves as the Commanding General’s principal advisor and the Center’s senior expert in force management and future force development processes for the Protection Warfighting Function, and for Engineer, CBRN and Military Police warfighting capabilities. He oversees enterprise level activities to ensure MSCoE delivers world class initial entry training, leader development education, and technical functional training to Army, Joint and Interagency Service members and personnel. Mr. Thompson acts as the principal advisor to installation senior leaders for civilian workforce development and management while serving as the senior DA Civilian on the installation. Further, he assists the Commanding General as directed with community, academia, industry, and tenant relations, along with coordination of local, state, and federal legislative affairs and strategic communications programs.
